Anastazja Palczukiewicz (b. 1994, Belarus) lives and works between Kraków and Amsterdam.
Working with found and industrial materials, she examines transfer: the movement of matter between places, functions, and states. She is interested in what this movement leaves behind — marks of contact, pressure, handling, and transformation. Her practice is concerned with what remains outside official forms of memory. Damage, corrosion, and deformation alter the material and become part of the structure of the work.
Palczukiewicz's approach is shaped by growing up in a rural environment where materials were routinely reassigned. It draws on an understanding of matter as something already in motion between functions, places, and states, retaining traces of what it has been.
