Statelessness and exile are among the key themes in Giorgio Agamben’s political philosophy. In his research, he examines forms of excluded identity deprived of the status of citizenship, defining the figure of the refugee as a phenomenon that exposes the contradictions within national sovereignty, citizenship, and human rights.
Drawing on Agamben’s research, my work turns to processes of deprivation and exclusion, focusing on the moment of rupture through which loss occurs.
