Steel cable, found steel offcuts, metal hooks, spherical magnets, plastic zip ties, plastic bag, nails, electricity, attraction, tension.
Seam is a series of sculptures in which the primary element is a steel cable processed through welding. The cable forms a continuous line without beginning or end, assembled from twisted strands held together by distributed tension.
Welding transforms the material. By fusing the strands, it fixes a structure previously sustained by tension. Material designed for flexibility becomes brittle. At the point of fixation, a seam appears — a connection that becomes a defect, and a defect that becomes structure.
Traces of intervention remain embedded in the material. Misalignments, mistakes, and failed attempts become part of the work. Offcuts are retained as patches, hinges, or supports — each forming a node of tension.
